Palo Duro Canyon State Park is a Texas state park in the Panhandle south of Amarillo, and it is one of the few places in Texas where you can camp on a canyon floor with water and electric at your site. Sites cost $26 per night plus the daily entrance fee ($8 per adult, kids 12 and under free), so two adults pay about $42 a night before any pass benefit. Juniper and Mesquite/Sagebrush list 30/50 amp; Hackberry is 20/30 amp only. Some Mesquite/Sagebrush and Hackberry sites take rigs up to 60 feet, but Texas uses site-specific reservations, so open the exact site record and match your full length. Book up to five months ahead at 8 a.m. Central; the park often fills. There is no sewer at the sites, so plan around the dump station, and take summer heat and flash flooding seriously.
