For 2026 you book through Yellowstone National Park Lodges, which assigns the specific site at check-in; the campground moves to Recreation.gov in 2027. The season is summer only, roughly mid-May to mid-September. The trade-off is atmosphere: this is the busiest, most exposed of the big developed campgrounds, and at about 7,700 feet nights can be cold.
