South Rim Campground is the small National Park Service campground at Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park on Colorado's Western Slope, perched near a sheer gorge that drops 2,000 feet to the river. When open, Loop B has 20/30/50-amp electric and takes combinations up to about 55 feet; Loops A and C have no hookups and fit rigs of roughly 23 feet. Rates are about $34 a night for electric and $20 for non-electric, booked on Recreation.gov. The campground is small, so sites are limited even in a normal year. Season details are not in our sources, so verify with the park. The trade-off is uncertainty: dramatic canyon-rim camping if the loops are open, and a scramble for the short-rig sites if they are not.

Book it if the loops you need are open and you want to camp on the rim of the Black Canyon. Skip it, or at least verify closures first, if you have a longer rig that depends on Loop B.
