Jekyll Island Campground is the only campground on Jekyll Island, a state-owned barrier island in Georgia's Golden Isles between Brunswick and St. Simons, an easy detour off I-95 roughly midway between Savannah and Jacksonville. The practical picture: 179 sites, 167 of them full hookup with water, sewer and 30/50-amp power, plus 12 primitive water-only tent sites. Published floor rates are $51 a day for back-ins, $54 for pull-throughs and $36 for tent sites, with a $4 per-pet fee and a separate daily island parking fee at the entrance gate charged for every day of your stay. The campground maximum is 45 feet, but each site has its own limit based on the landscape, so filter by your measured length. Reservations are effectively required in spring, fall and holidays. The trade-off is fee stacking and uneven site sizes; there is no pool or activity program.
