Hodgdon Meadow Campground is a National Park Service campground just inside Yosemite's Big Oak Flat (Highway 120 West) entrance in California, at about 4,900 feet. Wooded and mellow, it is the natural choice if you are arriving from the Bay Area or San Francisco side and want to be inside the gate without fighting for a Yosemite Valley site, and it is one of the easier in-park reservations to land. It suits RVers with rigs under the park's length limits who can dry camp.
There are no hookups. Around 100 sites are reservable on Recreation.gov in season and first-come in the shoulder season, with reservation rules that differ in winter; the fee is $36. The limit is a 35-foot RV or 30-foot trailer, but the exact site controls fit, and Yosemite's length limits generally mean a rig under 35 feet opens up far more sites. The trade-off is location: you are at the west entrance, so the Valley is still a drive, and you give up utilities in exchange for an easier booking and an in-park base.
