Reservations go through Delaware North up to 13 months ahead, and NPS suggests booking about a year out for May through October. Cell reception and internet are listed as none. The trade-off is price for a pad with no canyon view, roughly $50 more than Mather next door; for a two- or three-night stay the convenience is worth it, for a week a self-contained rig may prefer Mather.

On September 19 the park said it hopes to reopen to overnight guests around Thanksgiving, but that is a projection. The only full-hookup campground inside Grand Canyon National Park. Let's be honest about what it is: a paved parking lot with utility pedestals, arranged in tight rows with minimal landscaping. Aesthetically, it's nothing special. But you're inside the park, steps from the rim trail, and you can walk to the shuttle bus stops, the general store, and the El Tovar dining room. That location premium is the entire value proposition.
